PORTABLE DIGITAL MICROWAVE THICKNESS GAUGE

Field of application

      The device is intended for the thickness measurement of any non-metallic coating on any metal.

Principle of operation

      The operation of the device is based on the measurement of parameter of microwave reflected from the surface with coating.

Advantages

      Unlike conventional eddy-current and magnetic thickness gauges, the measurement results in microwave instrument do not depend on type of metal, its conductivity or magnetic properties as well as on the dielectric permittivity of the coating. Therefore, the instrument does not require calibrations when changing the object of testing. .

Design

      The portable microwave thickness gauge consists of the sensor unit and the indicator device. An open-ended waveguide is used as sensor. Instrument is performed digital, direct-reading, features high stability related to the time and temperature of environment.
      Two elements of AA type are used for power supply. The gauge can be equipped also by an adapter 220 V.
