DEVICES FOR NON DESTRACTIVE TESTING OF PISTONS OF EXPLOSION ENGINE

  Proposed devices (Fig. 1) allow to detect the not adhesion areas between the ni-resist cast iron inserts and the basic material in the pistons of explosion engine and to evaluate the dimensions of this areas. On the basis of the received information and the set rejection parameters the device makes a decision to an attribute "able" - "not able". Devices can be used to the hundred-percent testing in conditions of a line production, and also at debugging of a processing. According to the installed acoustic block (the block of transducers), the testing is made in the pistons after preparation with an opened insert (a Fig. 3) or in ready pistons (Fig. 2). A and B are the testing surfaces. The rejection parameters can be determined on the strength of requirements specifications.
  Productivity of the testing is not less than 200 pistons in hour. Real dimensions of all kinds of defects are displayed on the digital indicator. Proposed devices detect defects as on border a layer of allitizing alloy Ц a ni-resist cast iron insert (Fig. 4), and a layer of allitizing alloy - a basic material of the piston (Fig. 5).
